A Visit to Lapu-Lapu's Living Legacy

2:00 PM

After our quick tour around Cebu City, we headed straight to Mactan, its nearby island. Riding a taxi was the easiest way to get there and it's very cheap, too. When we got to Fernan Bridge, I rolled the cab window down and sneaked my upper body out and just took snapshots. It's a little dangerous but at that moment all I ever wanted was to capture that moment.

We arrived there at noontime. It was so hot that day. We just took a few minutes to roam around the place and to soak in the view. We saw Magellan's Shrine and Lapu-Lapu's Monument. I actually thought it was bigger in real life but I was wrong.

It was a short stop to what was seemingly a long day. We didn't get to actually go around farther since our cab driver told us that there were still many places to see. I just thought to myself that if I would be here again in the future, I would really take my time to discover hidden places that no tourist has ever reached yet. Or maybe I will take the afternoon off checking the ukulele stores.
