Seeing Cebu in a Different Light

8:00 PM

After a long day of touring around Cebu City, our cab driver recommended us to have a dinner at Lantaw. It is near Temple of Leah where we were currently at. The skies were getting dark and the city was starting to show its spectacle of lights. Just a perfect time to sit down, have a talk about our experiences and watch the night lights flicker in beautiful synchronicity.

We ordered baked scallops, lechon kawali and cordova express which tasted divine! They were so flavorful and creamy that we finished eating within the first few minutes. We had banana turon for dessert. Surprisingly, the food here is cheaper than in Manila. And well, it tasted so good, I wouldn't even care for the price. I just enjoyed myself indulging in sweet delights.

Just before we retired for the night, we went on for a little walk downtown. We just wanna spend some time going out and about the city. Who doesn't wanna make the most of their time when traveling, right? We went on to walk with the locals along the busy streets where the night markets were. Sometimes, its just nice to be in sync with people you don't know and pretend you are one of them. In a sense, you belong to a place you barely know with people you hardly recognize.

Can you count all the people holding each other?

Charming Cebu didn't fail to surprise me. It is definitely one of those places you can certainly call a "home far away from home". The people were kind and accommodating that you can easily trust them with just hints of their smiles. From historical monuments to places with breathtaking scenery, Cebu has effortlessly crawled on to my top spot. It has an indescribable charm that makes you wanna stay more. In an alternate universe, I would like to stay longer. Maybe live here, if possible. I just knew that this city has snatched my heart from the moment I laid my eyes on it by the plane's window seat.
