As the night grew and the winds grew colder, we decided to go back to our place. We walked through the well-lit alleys of San Malo to Barra. It was a long walk but an enjoyable one, nonetheless. I got to see how the locals live their everyday lives. Moments felt surreal to me. I am a part of something I know I don't belong to but somehow I have managed to blend in. 

The night is young and there's still a lot of things to do. I put on my favorite striped shirt and slung my leather coat behind my back, ready to go out and have fun. My sister told us that we're going to Macau Food Festival. Of course, a trip wouldn't be much of a trip without exploring the local food scene. So we took a bus that goes from Barra to Taipa.

As we were nearing the place, I can't help but fall in love with every sight that I saw. It is true then. Everything is a lot more romantic at night time. I put on my coat as the temperature started to drop. I was fidgeting as we stroll the stark-white tiled walkways, but the presence of lights seemed to make me feel a little warm.

We took a quick detour and visited a few casinos located in Taipa. Infinite number of colors amazed my eyes leaving me in awe. It was so futuristic and at the same time an old-fashioned place, almost reminiscent of those old anime series.

We entered Grand Lisboa and we're welcomed by this ginormous chandelier hanging from the ceiling. It glittered so beautifully, I was left with my mouth wide open. And what's also good about this casino is that it has a place for learning. We perused the glass-covered mosaics detailing the history of Macau.




We reached Macau Tower at exactly 9:30 pm. Worriedly, we hurried inside to maximize our remaining time. Just like any fairy tale story, our time was only limited. And what a perfect venue it was to be in a fair, too. I looked left and right and there's no sign of the person I've been waiting for. Til I realized, it's seemingly fitting to assume that the one I've been waiting for my whole life was the view right in front of me.






I've never stood in front of something this majestic. My eyes widened and my heart skipped a bit as I watch the clouds hovered the tower. It's definitely one of the most picturesque views I have ever laid my eyes on to. I quickly grabbed my camera and took snapshots that didn't do justice to what my eyes saw that night. It was shining brighter than the moon. No picture could ever describe what my own human lens have captured.



I never wanted to leave my spot but there's so much more to see and our time was running quickly. We roamed around to look for something to eat. I couldn't get my mind off the scenery I was watching just a few moments ago. It was clearly the highlight of this trip for me.

We sat down together with some locals and ate while we exchanged our thoughts about our own experiences on this trip. I shared my insights about how surprising Macau had been so far. It has exceeded all of my initial expectations. I didn't know that it would make it's way to my heart so easily. Like a thief in the night, Macau snatched a piece of my heart that I know I will be leaving here.









After our scrumptious meal, we decided to play some of the fair's games.





And just like any other fairy tale story, we left the venue at midnight sharp. It was a little different seeing Macau with less people. But it's an opportunity we took to get to see the city without so much distractions. It was so peaceful. I was looking at far off lights as the cold midnight breezes kissed my cheeks. We wandered for a few streets more and witnessed how Taipa's lights get richer as time passed by.




And just like that, this chapter has ended. With new memories stored in my mind and new experiences engraved in my heart, I'm looking forward to write new chapters. New beginnings to start. New adventures to partake. New stories to share. New lessons to learn.
